Types of Padlocks and Keys in the System

🔹 Personal Identification Padlocks

They must always be keyed differently (KD).

Each employee has their own padlock and only they can remove it.

This prevents dangerous reconnections while someone is working on the machine.

🔹 Machine Identification Padlocks

They ensure the machine cannot be accidentally reactivated.

They can be configured as key-alike (KA) to speed up maintenance.

The operator only needs one key to remove multiple padlocks, saving time and effort.

🔹 Master Key (MK)

Opens multiple groups of padlocks.

Used only in emergencies or justified situations.

It must be stored in a secure location (e.g., safe) and its use must be documented.
